In the kitchen again!

No recipe in this post I am afraid! Just an update on where I am in my cooking journey.

We have relocated to the UK. I did a few posts from our temporary residence in a flat in London.

Earlier this year (in April) we moved to Wiltshire where we have bought a boat! It has taken a bit of time to get back to being in the kitchen, to do any proper cooking.

Not only having to buy all the kitchen equipment and utensils we have been used to, but also sourcing familiar ingredients.

Chickpea Cinnamon Blondies

So I made a well tried favourite – Chickpea Cinnamon Blondies – and used a wonderful adjustable baking tin we found at IKEA!

It has graduations in the corners (in both mm and ins) so you can select the right size.

Works a treat, but you do have to line with greaseproof paper, mainly to help retain the liquid content.

Our boat, Shangri La, is moored near Devizes on the Kennet and Avon Canal. If you would like to see more about our boating journeys, check out my other blog – Waterwaywanderer.

She is a 58′ widebeam barge. Really well fitted out, and in due course we would love to resume our pop up vegan dining experiences on board.

Another view of the galley – note my 2 favourite kitchen items – Blendtec High Speed Blender and the Magimix Food Processor.

Looking forward to making and experimenting with seitan again. Hopefully post my results soon.

Bon apetit!
